Several yrs ago, there were 2 gentlemen making the purses for Vera. They secured million dollar loans in order to expand, with the Vera company aiding them in securing such loans. Then Vera moved her major production to china instead, leaving the gentlemen high and dry on the factories and loans they had secured and built for Vera....they then sued Vera Bradley. Research it on the internet, you will see how wonderful the Vera company cared about their Indiana workers...old purses have the old USA tags, new ones are China.

I will NOT buy any VB bags not made in USA. I am already paying a ton of $$ for a simple cotton bag, I fully support bags made in US.

I haven't bought any Vera Bradley unless it says made in the USA. We need to keep our economy in the upward motion. By sending overseas more of our people stay unemployed. There are enough empty buildings in the US that could very well have sustained a manufacturing facility for Vera Bradley without having to build another facility or outsource. People who are willing to work are also willing to learn a new trade. I have been trying very hard to support our own economy and if there is a choice, and there definitely is now, I will only buy American made. When so many folks are unemployed here in the USA, I think it is really a sin to send this to China. What I have heard and seen, quality is not the same. Bring Vera back to the US only for manufacturing.

I was very disappointed to find some of the Vera bags were being made in China and yes I think the quality is down. I noticed this at Barnes and Noble while looking at the Vera and said they didn't feel the same. I am going to stop buying Vera altogether.

I bought a hand bag late last summer used it for awhile and then put it away until I took it out in late winter to be used on my trip and to my surprise all of the rings have tarnished. I paid full price at a reputable Vera Bradley store and for this to hsppen I will think twice about paying full price for anything Vera Bradley has made in China. Maybe they should use better rings for their purses so this wouldn't happen, since the prices are still the same no matter where they are made. This was not my first purchase I have a large collection of different styles and accessories and I am very disappointed, I probably won't buy another for this reason.

I love Vera Bradley and have really enjoyed the purses and travel bags. Part of the reason I enjoyed it so much was that they were made in the USA. Goodbye Vera Bradley, it was fun while it lasted.

I sent verabradley.com an email asking about a large duffle my daughter wants. I wanted to know if it is made in the U.S. or China.

Here is their response, "Vera Bradley products are designed in Fort Wayne, Indiana and manufactured both in the United States and throughout the world. Due to the changing nature of our business, the percentage of products made entirely in the United States is constantly fluctuating."

So, they weren't able to tell me where the item comes from if I order it from the verabradley.com site.

I was very disapointed to learn My new vera bradley bag was made in china. I can't return it since I purchased it several hundred miles away. But will certainly look at the bag next time I purchase one. Will NOT buy a bag made in China. I looked at an older bag I have had 10 years or better it doesn't even say where it was made?????

I just ordered a Vera Bradley backpack - one that I've been wanting for 3 years. It arrived today. But . . . it was made in China. I have the smaller backpack which was made in the US and there is definitely a quality difference. I am very disappointed in the quality considering the price I paid. I will most likely return it. I agree about it not having the quilted fabric pockets on the inside and it isn't soft like the other bag I have. The interesting part, however, is that I had to look and look to find the "Made in China" tag. They hide it well.
