See the New Vera Bradley 2009 Spring Patterns
Check out the Vera Bradley Summer 2009 Patterns here
So have you seen the new Vera Bradley patterns for Spring of 2009 yet? If not you can check them out here, so the wait is over to check out the new spring patterns those designers at Vera have cooked up. And I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
As much as the last batch of patterns in the fall were loved by many, I think this new collection will be even more sought after.
So we have a couple of cupcake patterns, and those little circles are reminiscient of cupcakes. Might make ya hungry during the day though. They are subtle and fun patterns that I think will be very popular.
The purple punch pattern has already seen a little bit of buzz. Those big daisies on the dark background give it a unique elegance, and it's about time Vera had some classy purple patterns to wear,
I actually like Hope Garden a lot. It might seem a little too hopeful to some with all those bright and colorful flowers on a white background but it really is a cheerful pattern and looks great on this bag, I think. Of course, I am sure some will argue that they think the pattern is absolutely dreadful, but as always, I welcome any comments on these new Vera Bradley patterns for Spring 2009.
These won't come out until January. So if you don't like what you got for Christmas.... a nice tote in one of the new patterns might make you feel better=)

I love the new Hope Garden! It’s perfect for spring. The flowers are just so colorful, bright, and enchanting.
admin on Sat, 13th Dec 2008 5:36 pm
I agree with you Anna, but it looks like Purple Punch has the lead right now. As soon as the first pattern reaches 100 I am going to post who the winner was of this little voting contest.

The Purple Punch bandwagon will fade. As anyone that knows anything about fashion now knows that gray and purple are the colors of winter. Purple will get a lot of hype until late Feb. Then it will be all Hope Garden until July. Purple Punch will be big this winter, but I bet you will be seeing Hope Garden mid 2009 about as much or more so than you are seeing Raspberry Fizz right now. The great thing about Hope Garden is it will look great all the way till September. That is why it will be the focus of the Rose parade float.
admin on Thu, 18th Dec 2008 5:22 pm
Hmm some good points. I tend to agree with you Jonny. It’s odd though that they are SPRING patterns coming out in January. We will have to keep our eyes on Hope Garden to see if your predictions will come true. The Parade should give it a huge boost too.

i lovvvvvvvvvve the purple punch so do you no exactly when they r coming out?
admin on Sun, 21st Dec 2008 1:22 am
Well Mary, from what I have heard it’s supposed to be January. Not sure exactly what day, but I’m sure they will tell us the day of the Tournament of Roses Parade when they debut their float.

Well, I actually like the Purple Punch and not just cuz every one likes it. Its not so bling bling (boom I’m here). Its classy and subtle. Yet dramatic and enticing.
admin on Mon, 22nd Dec 2008 5:05 am
Classy and subtle.. hmm..nicely put. I think it’s going to be a huge hit when it hits the shelves.

I’m not a purple person but I do like the Purple Punch pattern for 2009. I really wish VB would do a black/green!
Kelly on Mon, 29th Dec 2008 3:07 am
I’m a Vera Bradley fanatic so I obviously love them all…..but I will definitely be getting a tote in the purple punch and the hope garden. A girl can never have too many bags and purses to go with different outfits plus they are beautiful, fun and uplifting!!!!
kit on Mon, 29th Dec 2008 4:36 am
I would like the Purple Punch IF it didn’t have the black background. If it were more like Petal Pink, Raspberry Fizz, etc. I’ve been waiting for a purple, but not with black. Ugh! So, Hope Garden will be my favorite this season. I really don’t like either cupcake color… what are they thinking at VB?

I too love the Hope Garden. My second favorite is Purple Punch, but I think it is way too dark for summer. The Cupcake patterns look too “young” to me. (I’m 36, by the way.) They look like something my daughter might like, though.
The Hope Garden is so refreshing because it is light and is BLOOMING with all those flowers. It just LOOKS like spring and summer to me. I can’t wait to get one
BTW, I also liked the fall patterns. I bought a bag in the Puccini pattern, and I also liked the Cafe Latte. The owls were cute as well, but the scarlet pattern did nothing for me.
Any word on new handbag styles that are debuting in January? I noticed that several styles are being discontinued soon (curvy tote, baby bag, backpack, etc.).

I really like Hope Garden for Spring/Summer. It would like great with just jeans and a white t-shirt. I think the Cupcakes will be popular with the younger crowd (teenagers). I can see them liking the retro look.
Would love Vera to do a purple/teal mix – especially with Peacock gone.
I am a sucker for Nautical looks – especially in Spring. My forever favorite is my Nantucket Red.
Linda krantz on Fri, 2nd Jan 2009 9:51 pm
I love love love the bucket tote, I have a feeling that is being discontinued. I hope something will be similar to take its place. The bucket tote is just the right size for me as I am a petite person and I don’t carry a ton of stuff in my purse. I like that it was a medium size also.
Laela on Sun, 4th Jan 2009 1:54 am
I love the Purple Punch! I actually think the black brings out the bright springy shades of the purple. This will be my next favorite! I have many pieces in Frankly Scarlett and Peacock and now can not wait for some PURPLE PUNCH!
Amanda on Sun, 4th Jan 2009 11:26 pm
I think the purple punch is what people have been waiting for. A tasteful purple is what I personally have been awaiting. The hope garden is also an improvement from the puccini, which I think was awful. I think the black background will be a big seller since the white background has been over done here lately. The cupcakes are the new mod florals for the year, and I hate green, but I think they did a good job, every for someone who hates green. The 2008 winter collection was kind of a disappointment, and they were lucky they put out the mediteranian. I think this springs collection will take off like 2007, and I see purple punch being the new java blue.

Hey Amanda I agree with you on the purple punch thing. It seems like forever since they have even had anything with purple even in it. To all of you hope garden lovers I actually got a chance to see this bag in person at my local mall and was very disappointed. I thought for sure I would love it, but the picture of it is deceiving. It’s definitely not as cute in person. I will probably be getting one of the cupcake colors this spring.
Jenni on Tue, 6th Jan 2009 1:54 am
I love the new Hope Garden. It is totally fantabuloso! Purple punch is also awesome. But Hope Garden just has so many bright colors that I love against the white background. Does anybody know when these patterns will be released into the stores?
admin on Tue, 6th Jan 2009 7:06 am
Just so everyone knows. These new Vera Bradley 2009 patterns will be out in stores on January 12th.
Lea on Tue, 6th Jan 2009 1:17 pm
I really like the vera bradley purple punch but I wish Vera would put more zipper closures on some of the pocketbook styles. I love the tic tac tote but the toggle closure I hate. I like for my purse to be completely closed up when out shopping.
Janice on Tue, 6th Jan 2009 10:14 pm
Hey does anyone know what anything about the new styles? I know the new patterns are coming out, but they have retired about 5 styles. What and when will the new styles be out?
Jen on Wed, 7th Jan 2009 3:25 pm
I thought there was going to be a blueish pattern coming out. Maybe thats for summer? I like the Cupcakes Green, will probably get a Villager or other similar in size bag. Thanks!
Lexi on Wed, 7th Jan 2009 11:28 pm
I love the Purple Punch! It is super duper cute and I love it because there are no existing Vera Bradley patterns that have purple or black in them. The Hope Garden is okay, but the Cupcake Pi nk and Green are definately not cute at all! Jenni, the patterns are being released into stores and online on January 12.
Elizabeth on Thu, 8th Jan 2009 8:33 pm
In my opinion some VBs look better in certain styles than others. Like I bet Hope Garden would look great in a Betsy but not in a smaller one like Coin Purse or Tech Case. Sometimes the scale of the print doesn’t look good on smaller (or bigger) styles. Anyone agree?
For instance, I hated Botanica on my friends smaller Hipster but love it on my super large Tote.
Maybe the Hope Garden that Janice saw was too small or too big for the pattern scale and that is why she wasn’t impressed. I hope so …… I thought I was going to like that one.
Janice on Sun, 11th Jan 2009 5:11 pm
Are there any new styles coming out in the spring? They have retired about 5 styles. Are they going to replace them when the spring patterns come out?
Janice on Mon, 12th Jan 2009 7:44 pm
Okay ladies, let me be the first to say that I was wrong about the hope garden. It is indeed cute in person. I was also very shocked to find out that the purple punch is not black and purple it is brown and purple. Overall I really liked all of the new patterns and styles. I purchased the purple punch in the new mailbag style. I will probably be back very soon to get the cupcake green in one of the other new styles. I truly love the new stuff and you will too!
Mellisa Rebensky on Tue, 13th Jan 2009 3:42 am
Over the year I feel that Vera bradley patterns have gotten too bold and less sophisticated. looking back at some of there own patterns Like sea port navy which I felt was one of there best and also they used to do softer florals that weren’t so overwhelming and more muted colors. Crazy about handbags!
M on Wed, 14th Jan 2009 3:31 pm
I am sorry for those who are fans of the Hope Garden pattern, but I strongly dislike that particular pattern. It’s just a group of mismatched flowers that just lead your eyes all over the place. However, I love Vera Bradley stuff and I already have two of their purses. My favorite colors are Purple Punch and Cupcake pink. I think Vera Bradley is making a great come-back!
M on Wed, 14th Jan 2009 3:43 pm
Ok, now I REALLY like purple punch! I just hope they don’t use purple in their purses too often, because then they’ll be Vera Wang instead of Vera Bradley.
(Oh, and are you guys color-blind? The background for purple punch is BROWN not BLACK!!)
Janice on Wed, 14th Jan 2009 8:31 pm
Hey M, I said the same thing. I thought all along the background of the purple punch was black. The pictures online make the brown seem so dark it looks black. I actually bought the purple punch on Monday morning when they came out. I had to wait for the store to unbox them so I could even buy one. I really like it though.
M on Sat, 17th Jan 2009 3:45 pm
Seriously? I want one sooooooooooooo bad now! What kind of style did you get?
Tyba Geller on Sun, 22nd Mar 2009 3:56 pm
I think the new patterns are garrish and would like to see smaller flowers and not such broad sweeping and large patterns
