Vera Bradley Bible Covers and Book Covers

Have you seen the Vera Bradley Bible covers?  They have been around for some time but not everyone knows about them so I wanted to write a post about them.

Most of them that I have seen are in the Kensington or Cambridge patterns, which happen to be very complimentary to the Bible covers and I think very appropriate as well.

They are made out of the same plush and thick Vera Bradley fabric that we all are used to and provide more than adequate protection for your Bible.  If you already have a Bible cover than you can consider getting a more elegant one.

The company calls them the Good Book Covers and the standard size that they come in are 6¼" x 9¼" x 1¾", so you may need to measure your Bible to see if it will fit.  These are not for family Bibles but the average size Bible should fit in these beautiful covers.

There is a front pocket on the cover and most come with a ribbon page holder.  The carrying handle also makes it easy to carry it to church without dropping it, but it's nice having a cover in any instance to keep your Bible in good condition and to protect it from the elements, especially in the rain.

These book covers from VB are also made available and I believe are still being made today.  So if you are reading a really great book at home and just want a nice fancy cover for it, whether it is to protect it or to keep anyone from knowing what you are reading, you can fancy it up with a Vera Bradley book cover.

Vera Bradley Wallets: Which One to Choose…

There are so many kinds of Vera Bradley wallets out there these days.  And with every year that goes by Vera comes out with a few more wallet styles giving us yet one more reason to spend money on something that holds our money.  Kind of ironic isn't it?

When deciding on what wallet you will be using you need to consider several factors: Will this by your every day wallet? Do you want to be able to also use this wallet as a convenient purses? And maybe you even need to ask yourself if you have too many credit cards to try to cram into those sweet little wallets.

Well when thinking about some of the new wallet styles that have come out for this year, I wanted to write a post about all of those wallets and ask all of you which wallet style is the best of all time!  I know there are a lot to choose from so I put an Amazon astore page on here so you can check out some of the different kinds of wallets that have been passed down through the ages.. or at least the last few years.

What is Your Favorite Retired Vera Bradley Pattern

Aren't those retired Vera Bradley patterns just the best!  I have been meaning to ask this question for a while now.  I want to know what you  think because I am thinking of changing the retired Vera Bradley page  in the store here to show some of the most popular discontinued patterns of all time.

I know there are some of those old patterns that have stood the test of time and are now coveted by all!  Now if you ask me, I think Nantucket Navy was a classic that never should have been discontinued, and here are a few more of my favorites:

1. Mesa Red
2. Capri Blue
3. Pink Elephants
4. Windsor Navy
5. Piccadilly Plum
6. Chelsea Green
7. Bermuda Pink

Oh wow!  I think I could go on and on, but a top list of 7 should be good for now.  Some of these are more of their recent patterns, but I just didn't have much of a taste for those patterns made in in 80's like this one below.

Now maybe you actually like some of those patterns above, but I like the more recent patterns a LOT more.  But that's the great thing about VB patterns and styles.  There is something for every one.  Some love the Hope Garden pattern while others hate it, but I think everyone can find at least one pattern they just love and can call their own.

So what is your opinion?  What is the all time best pattern ever invented by the company from Fort Wayne Indiana?

Just Got the Purple Punch Libby Purse Today!

So, it's awesome! You just have to see the pictures of this Purple Punch pattern purse I just got from Vera Bradley. It is a Libby purse (one of my favs) and the Purple Punch pattern has definitely just shot itself to the top of my absolute favorite patterns. The inside of the purse (as I will show you in the pics below) has a cool design to compliment the design on the outside.

Yeah, so there it is.  What do you think?  Makes you want one hah?  Yeah, I know the feeling.  Well this pattern just came out this week and it seems like every Vera Bradley fanatic wants this pattern, but since it's so knew there is still a good chance you can be the first on your block to on this design.

Are the Spring 09 Patterns Really Out Today?

Well today is January 12th 2009.  This is the day that we have been told the Vera Bradley patterns would be available for purchase.   So I went out into town today to check out some of the local retail stores to see the new patterns for Spring of 2009, and guess what they told me....   The new patterns should be available in about 2 weeks!


So apparently it really depends on what store you go to.  I am sure some of the Vera Bradley retailers will have the 09 patterns on their shelves but just because they sell Vera bags does not mean you will be able to walk home with the Purple Punch or Hope Garden pattern any time soon.

And just so you know, we will have those new Spring patterns available here on Buythatpurse.com in our store section in just a week or so, so make sure you stay tuned for that because we often can make those new or retired patterns available at much lower prices than you pay in the malls.

Vera Bradley Purple Punch Has Won the Popular Vote

Last week I wrote a post which had a poll in it for people to vote on their favorite new Vera Bradley pattern for Spring 2009 (which comes out in January).

As of today here are the results:

Cupcakes Pink:  7 votes

Cupcakes Green: 8 votes

Hope Garden: 139 votes

Purple Punch: 231

So it looks like the folks over at Vera Bradley did not exactly hit a homerun with their cupcake line.  But at least the name of the pattern is equally as bad.  I think we as Vera Bradley fans have just come to expect more from the company than those cupcake patterns.  In fact, I would actually rather eat a cupcake right now than have something in those designs.... but I digress.

Both Hope Garden and Purple Punch will be very popular when they come out, as the poll shows.  For a while Hope Garden was neck and neck with Purple Punch, until Purple Punch gave Hope Garden the knockout punch in the 3rd round.

Women will love this winning pattern because it is simple, not overdone, and has an element of elegance that has been lacking in the last few designs.  You will see both sophisticated people and little girls wearing this pattern with pride in 2009.

Although I do like the spring cheeryness of Hope Garden, I kind of figured that Purple Punch would win out in the end.  But hey, just because a pattern is popular does not mean you have to go along with the crowd.  I always suggest finding a pattern that suits you, that fits your personality and then run with it.  There are a few patterns I can think of, that whenever I see those patterns I think of the girls that love to wear them, so after time you can be closely associated with the patterns you wear.

I will often go back to some of the old retired patterns.  Most of the new Vera Bradley fans do not even recognize some of the retired patterns and they will think they are just knock-offs, but I know they are Vera Bradley and I know that some of those discontinued patterns are very rare and not many other women will be wearing them.

As always you will updated here as soon as the new patterns are available for purchase.  So far I have just heard that they are expected to come out in January, so any day now.

Vera Bradley’s Hope Garden Featured in Major Parade

Vera Bradley is going to have a giant 30 foot float in the Tournament of Roses Parade.  The Parade will be held on New Years Day and be held in Pasadena, California.  So if you planned on sleeping in and you are a big Vera Bradley fan than sorry to say you will be missing out.

The name of the float is "Hope Grows" which clearly is to refer to their newest pattern for Spring of 2009 Hope Garden.  If you have not already, check out the new Spring 2009 patterns.  The float should be a beautiful display that will include a garden filled with butterflies, and of course it will have many of the new patterns, especially Hope Garden featured all around the garden.  This 30 foot float should be a very pretty site.

The Hope Garden design is another one of Vera's patterns that benefits breast cancer research.  The company is very committed to using a lot of it's resources to finding a cure and everytime purchases are made from patterns like Pinwheel Pink, some of the money goes towards research.

I think it's rather fitting for Vera Bradley to be in a Tournament of Roses parade, and it's a great oppoturnity to show off a very appropriate new design as well.

I have a poll on the Spring 2009 patterns page and Hope Garden is still a close second to Purple Punch at the time of the writing of this post, so I think it will be a very popular pattern this coming year.

So have you seen the new Vera Bradley patterns for Spring of 2009 yet?  If not you can check them out here, so the wait is over to check out the new spring patterns those designers at Vera have cooked up.  And I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

As much as the last batch of patterns in the fall were loved by many, I think this new collection will be even more sought after.

So we have a couple of cupcake patterns, and those little circles are reminiscient of cupcakes.  Might make ya hungry during the day though.  They are subtle and fun patterns that I think will be very popular.

The purple punch pattern has already seen a little bit of buzz.  Those big daisies on the dark background give it a unique elegance, and it's about time Vera had some classy purple patterns to wear,

I actually like Hope Garden a lot.  It might seem a little too hopeful to some with all those bright and colorful flowers on a white background but it really is a cheerful pattern and looks great on this bag, I think.  Of course, I am sure some will argue that they think the pattern is absolutely dreadful, but as always, I welcome any comments on these new Vera Bradley patterns for Spring 2009.

These won't come out until January.  So if you don't like what you got for Christmas.... a nice tote in one of the new patterns might make you feel better=)

Vera Bradley Rasies 8 Million for Breast Cancer

It is called the Vera bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer and according to their missions statement their mission is to totally eradicate breast cancer through research and research related projects.

This foundation began in 1998 and has since rasied almost 8 millions dollars for this noble cause.   I think it is a very cool thing that a company would invest all that time and effort to destroying a horrible disease.

And it's also nice to know that when you buy a Pinwheel Pink product you are supporting the foundation as well.

Here are all the ways that the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer is funded and how you can show your support too:

1. Ribbons for Life and general donations
2. Any Pinwheel Pink sales that come through. ( hey it's a great pattern anyway)

I figured I would make a post about Vera Bradley's efforts, expecially at Christmas time when many are looking for ways to give back to the community and help someone in need during this time.

I Keep Seeing Vera Bradley!

I live in North Carolina and it seems I keep seeing Vera Bradley purses everywhere I go.  I was at Sam's Club last night, trying to get some free samples=), and I saw AT LEAST 10 women with Vera Bradley pattern purses that I knew of.  One was an old pattern that was not familiar to me so I had to look it up.  It was retired in 2005 and is called Americana Red.  A very nice pattern actually.  I think they should in fact make it again.

Besides those patterns at Sam's Club I saw a Classic Black, Nantucket Navy, Mesa Red, Capri Melon, and a few others.

I say all that to say this.  This company is popular with every age group it seems.  I have seen people from 5 years old to 85 wearing VB purses, scarves, and totes.  Now there are SOME who can't stand the companies patterns and designs, but for every woman that can't stand Vera Bradley there are 3 who LOVE it!

Christmas is right around the corner so I am sure there will be a lot of people looking to buy some purses and accessories for loved ones.  It can be hard to find the stuff cheap but you can check out the store here where we have cheap prices on Vera Bradley.

And don't just think about those new patterns for gift ideas.  An old favorite retired pattern might just the perfect gift.  I personally don't know why they retire those great patterns so stinkin soon.  Even though you can't buy those old patterns from the stores you can get tons of them here.
