Bringing Back the Vera Bradley Sherbet Pattern

Remember the Vera Bradley Sherbet?  It came out in January of 2004 and was retired in July of 2006, but many still love the Sherbet pattern and just wish Vera Bradley would bring it back from retirement.  In fact, I think it would be an incredibly smart move for the company to being back 3 or 4 of the most popular patterns of all time that are now retired and make that the next collection.  We all know how well those retro Jordan shoes sell when they remake them again, so why not try it with patterns that die-hard Vera Bradley fans just adore and WANT to buy.  I think they would do much better than putting out patterns women are just not liking for the 2009 winter and 2010 spring collection.

So here is a blast from the past.  You can't get the Sherbet from Vera Bradley anymore, but I wanted to showcase some of the Sherbet patterns available on Ebay right now.  There is actually quite a selection and many different styles of purses to choose from.  This pattern came out at the same time as Apple Green which is one of my favorites too.  Be sure to leave a comment below letting us know your all time favorite pattern and which one you would want to bring back.

Vera Bradley Backpacks Getting Ready for School

Well school is right around the corner and students are scrambling to get all of the gear they need to get the year started off right. Vera Bradley Canvas Collection: Durable and Beautiful

With the new Vera Bradley Canvas Collection there is a lot to love.  The canvas fabric is built VERY well and made to last, which is great because with bags like these you will want them to last for years to come.  The color is sort of a cream color and the brown trim around the edges and pockets accents it perfectly.  The syles that come in the canvas collection are Chestnut Tote, Cedar Duffel, Buckeye Bowler, Oak Messenger, Dogwood Wallet, and the Birchwood Backpack.  Each one of these new styles compliments the canvas fabric so well.  I know this is going to be a huge hit and the Canvas collection is one of the smarter choices that Vera Bradley has made.  With the 2009 Winter and 2010 Spring collections not looking to great for Vera fans the Canvas will be a much welcomed site.

The details and trim that goes around each bag is made of brown suede and feels oh so soft. Also, the canvas material is stain resistant so that's an extra nice feature for anyone who has kids... or even grown ups who are spilling stuff all the time. If we are honest we all have a little clutz in us and need a stain resistant bag to carry around.

The Cedar duffel is one of my favorites. I wish I could say you can get this at your Vera Bradley store right now, but they are only available at a few stores across the country right now.  So unless you happen to live near a big Vera Bradley retail store you a plum out of luck.  But of course you can always check out some of what we found for sale by checking out the Vera Bradley Canvas section of the store.

Vera Bradley Hope Garden is Retiring and Being Replaced

Well this is sad sad news for any of you who love Vera Bradley's Hope Garden Pattern.  My friend has a delightful Hope Garden Morgan that is just perfect, but soon we will have to say goodbye.  The reason for this is that Vera Bradley only wants one pattern for breast cancer research at a time.  In case you didn't know, every time you buy a Hope Garden purse you are also funding breast cancer research as well.  This lovely pattern has been selling very well and many retailers are puzzled and disappointed that it is being retired so soon.  I mean, Java Blue has been out for 4 years and it's still not retired yet.  But many say that HG is being retired to make room for the new breast cancer pattern coming out in 2010 called "Loves Me".  It's a rather ugly pattern to me and has huge purple daisies on it.  You can check out the Vera Bradley 2010 patterns here.

Raspberry Fizz
Mod Floral Pink
Mediterranean Blue

Of the above, Puccini and Yellow Bird have been the most popular so I am sure some women will put up a stink about them being discontinued.  These have been some of the best patterns yet and with preview and pictures of the upcoming patterns we don't have a lot to look forward to.

So now that you know one of your favorite patterns is retiring it may be a good time to buy some of those purses and accessories you have been putting off.  It seems like Hope Garden just came out and we are already seeing it go into retirement, but at least a lot of these were made at the outset and you can still pick some up for a limited time.

Vera Bradley Frill Pirouette ‘So Over It’ Bag

Well the results are in and women are loving the "So Over it" bag in the frill collection in the Pirouette pattern.   Even though the Pirouette was one of the least liked patterns for the new fall 2009 Vera Bradley patterns, it is one of the most loved in the Frill collection.  And the difference is that the frill collection Pirouette pattern is inside out and has a pleasant sort of plaid pattern that is elegant and simply beautiful.  I love the colors of this design and know that the "So Over It" bag is going to sell like hot cakes once it hits the stores.  A few stores already have this bag but most Vera Bradley retailers will not release this bag until later on this summer.  I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as they do hit the stores across the country, and you can stay up to date by signing up in the email box in the right column.

Vera Bradley Pens: The Write Way to Go

I just love the Vera Bradley pen that I found the other day.  I did not know the company even made them since I have not seen them in stores before, but my friend had a Caffe Latte Vera pen and I just thought it was the most wonderful idea.  It seems they make about everything in your favorite pattern these days and as I mentioned in the last post there are many more new products on the way for the fall of 2009.  Depending on which pens you get, some of them come in a nice pattern matching box as well, which makes it great for a gift idea too.  I saw a Blue Rhapsody Vera Bradley pen the other day and I fell in love with it.  The quality of these pens is so good too.  They write wonderfully, so for those of you who do still write checks, you just might have to hold yourself back on this one.

The Vera Bradley Frill Collection. The Reversible Pattern

Vera Bradley has come out with the Frill Collection out of nowhere and ithas been a marketing sensation so far.  These new styles also have familiar patterns with them but they are inside out and reversed.  I actually think the inside out colors and patterns are better than the originals.  The styles that come in the Frill Collection have a very whimsical look, feel, and name.  In an age of text messaging, these styleshave abbreviations for names too.  For instance, the All My Love styles is known as AML, So Over It (SOI), Sealed with a Kiss (SWAK), Got to Go (GTG), Fall on Floor Laughing (FOFL), You're the Best (YTB), and Love Ya Like a Sis (LYLAS).  Whether for school or just for fun this new collection will be a hit for women of all ages... but I am betting that it is geared to target the younger generation of Vera Bradley fans that have been cropping up a lot lately.  These styles come in the all new patterns for the fall of 2009 as well: Pirouette, Blue Rhapsody, and Carnaby.  But the reverse part is that it's the insides of these patterns that are now on the outsides, and I gotta say, it's pretty cool.  Here are some pictures of the Vera Bradley Frill Collection below.  Be sure to vote on which is your favorite and leave a comment too.

New Items Coming to Vera Bradley for Winter 2009

Along with the new patterns coming from Vera Bradley for the winter of 2009, there are also a bunch of new styles and products coming out as well.   Remember the new patterns for the winter are Paprika, Imperial Toile and Symphony in Hue.   It's a really exciting new era for Vera fans because some of these new items are throw-back products from when they used to make them but stopped, and others are totally new.  Some of the new products include:

• Vera Bradley Aprons are making a come back
• Mini coolers will once again be made in new patterns
• Christmas stockings and ornaments to deck the halls and the tree
• Vera headbands made officially by the company
• Christmas wrapping paper, gift bags, and gift tags
• Nice new wallet style
• Mini laptop portfolio case
• And some more cool stuff for the winter of 2009 as well

Check out some pics taken in a Vera Bradley retail store that had some of these new items on display.  Most stores don't even have this in yet, so only a few select stores will offer them.. Vera Bradley Carnaby Patterns on Sale Already!

The new Vera Bradley 2009 fall patterns are out and the all new Carnaby pattern is making quite a splash in the fashion world already.  Of course, we here a BuyThatPurse.com had the pictures of the patterns out before anyone else did, but we also wanted to report some pretty sweet deals on ebay right now for these bags as well.  You can buy them from Vera's website as well, but often you can get even bigger discounts on ebay and add a few auctions together to save even more money.

The Carnaby colors are wonderful for fall.  I got an email from Vera Bradley today saying the pattern is a London 60's style, but what do I know about London?!   It is supposedly named after a street in London, but I will just take their word for it.  All I know is that the Vera Bradley Carnaby is a great pattern with it's berry colors and rich floral design and I know it will be a popular pattern for a long time to come as well.  Anyway, check out some great deals going on right now for Carnaby purses and handbags.  And if you can't find what you are looking for you can always use our search box at the top right corner of this page.

Vera Bradley Blue Rhapsody Is Striking a Chord

The Vera Bradley Blue Rhapsody pattern is a pattern much like the Puccini of last fall.  Now, before you say, "What, it's not even close!  It lokos completely different!", let me say that I am not comparing the looks of the patterns as much as I am the way we respond to them.  When the Puccini pattern came out there were many out there who were repulsed by it and said they would never buy it.  Well a fwe months went buy and Puccini purses were flying off the shelves left and right.

The Blue Rhapsody pattern was dismissed by many who saw it for the first time on a website or in a store.  And let me just say that the pattern does look much better in person.  But the more we are seeing these sneak peaks of the 2009 fall patterns, the more people are turning to Blue Rhapsody as their favorite.

I started a poll to find out what fall 2009 pattern people liked the most, and at first Carnaby was the leader and Pirouette was at the bottom.  But upon last glance, Blue Rhapsody is favored above all of the others and for very good reason.  If you have not voted yet you can check out the poll here:

Vera Bradley 2009 Fall Patterns Poll

The Blue Rhapsody is a pattern we are not used to.  It uses color combinations and shades of blue and green that are pretty, but we were not used to seeing these colors on Vera Bradley bags.  I think the initial response was fairly negative because it was all just too new.  And this may be a hunch, but I think that's the reason Vera Bradley lets a few of these bags sell in a few test stores... to give us a chance to get used to the patterns and fall in love with them.

You can find some Vera Bradley Blue Rhapsody patterns on sale right now on ebay, even though the patterns will not be available anywhere else until August of this year.  More auctions are being added all the time so be the first to grab a Blue Rhapsody bag.  Your friends may not even know the new patterns had been revealed yet.
